Modern day South Sudanese land and it's people

Population:

South Sudanese population is estimated at 11-13 million people (Government of South Sudan 2009).

There is no clear figure,as the 2009 census has been criticised and deemed as invalid.Mainly as the data intended to include the South Sudanese diaspora,but larger overseas South Sudanese diaspora  populations in many countries where not included.

Official Languages:

Arabic (until 08/07/2011)
English (Only official language from 09/07/2011)

Dinka,Nuer,Zande,Shilluk and Bari

Each province has a number of counties which are divided in Payamas then divided again into Bomas

1.Bahr el Ghazal:
Previously part of the Equatoria province until 1984

States:
Lakes,Northern Bahr el Ghazal,Warrap and Western Bahr el Ghazal

Borders:
Central African Republic

2.Equatoria :

States:
Central Equatoria,Western Equatoria and Eastern Equatoria

Borders
:Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of  Congo,Kenya and Uganda

3.Upper Nile (Aâlâ En Nîl):

State:
Jongeli,Unity (Western Upper Nile) and Upper Nile

Borders:
Ethiopia
